have people started receiving housing offers yet? i turned in my housing app a week late =/

Yes. People have been applying for Housing for at least 2 weeks (maybe more) by now.

Are you an incoming freshman? I was walking behind a campus tour yesterday and the campus rep mentioned that people will receive their housing information around labor day. I’m not sure if that’s what you meant by “offer”

yeah, freshman. mm i’m talking about the roommate pref and personal info stuff. so far i’ve only paid the $20. i think i’m just gonna email housing, thanks ya’ll

When you called housing, what did they tell you? I’m unfortunately in the same boat.

this is what they replied =/

Because you submitted your housing application after the May 3, 2010 at 4:30pm deadline for the Freshman Housing Guarantee, you were automatically added to the waitlist for the residence halls. Since you missed the deadline, you will not be guaranteed a housing offer for the 2010-2011 academic year. We do anticipate being able to offer housing to students on the waitlist and are hopeful that you will receive a housing offer, however, this may not be until later in the summer, and again, we cannot guarantee that you will receive an offer. If you would like to inquire about your status on the waitlist, please contact Housing Administrative Services at (949) 824-6811, or at housingoffers@housing.hsg.uci.edu.

Last year since less freshman were admitted, there were many vacant beds and they began offering them to junior transfers and other continuing students. I think the number was around 500. I don’t know how many freshman were admitted this Fall, but if it’s the same or less than last Sept. due to budget cuts, they will have room in the halls for wait list students. Just be patient.

Im really late but maybe i can help explain if youre still in doubt. Ok so basically you had to pay 20 dollars to guarantee a spot by the may 3rd deadline.I’m not sure if you received it yet but we received a housing “offer”. On that application you choose your meal plan, roommate(optional),where you want to live, how many roommates. You had to pay $350 for that application. Now they will be pairing up people and begin to select the rooms for students.since you were unable to guarantee your spot, you have to wait until after they finish and hope you get a room. Most likely you will get a room and I hope you do.I’m sure you’re not the only one in that situation. Good luck!
