Where do students store valuables? Passports especially. Is there a safety deposit box service on campus? Cost? Do people use lockboxes? Any ideas. I am really concerned about the passport thing.

According to this http://tulane.edu/studentaffairs/tom/upload/Tulane-Univ-Svcs-Guide-2011-2.pdf</a> (page 3) the Whitney Bank branch on campus has safety deposit boxes. It is located in the LBC. Don’t know the cost, but a quick e-mail to Whitney Bank should get you the answer, if it isn’t on their web site.

Smitty–As far as I know, most students keep valuables in their rooms. Tulane tends to have a huge theft problem, however, it’s always from people not locking their rooms. I live in England over breaks now, so I always have my passport in my room. I’ve never had anything stolen at school, and the passport is tucked away nicely in a desk drawer. I’ve never heard of a dorm being broken into here, so as long as they’re smart and lock their door, they should be fine!
