My daughter has been assigned to the third floor of Houston Hall. Can anyone tell me what the rooms are like..she is in a double. Are there closests or just free standing dressers? Also, what are the bathrooms like? Any information about Houston Hall would be much appreciated. Thank you so much!

Hi, I found this website to be really helpful: http://ase.tufts.edu/reslife/res_halls/houston.html
You can see the floor plans too.
My son will be on the fourth floor. My understanding is that there are both closets and built-in dressers.
Good Luck!

Houston is a nice place to live, I spent a lot of time on that floor last year. Rooms are average-sized, smaller than Hill rooms but bigger than Tilton rooms. Dressers and closets are built into one wall, with closets on the sides and dressers in the middle with a low shelf above them where most people put their TV. Bathrooms are shared, somewhat large; I believe they have four stalls and four showers each.
The location is great, especially now that they're done with the construction on the quad. It's a short distance to Carmichael, the dining hall, and very close to the uphill classrooms.

Speaking of, what was that construction for? Just an addition onto the Fletcher school?

Renovation, I think.

on the website where they show the floorplan, there are some weird squares in front of some of the rooms (for example, 331, 330, 319, 312, 316) does anyone know what those are? I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible, I know this is a weird question.

here's the website if anyone wanted to check it out to see what i'm talking about:

Those are closets out in the hallway where the OneSource workers (the custodial crew) keep their equipment. They have no impact on your room.

thank you!

bump for me living there next year

S lived there last year. Somewhat institutional-looking, nothing fancy, but he loved the location. Claustrophobic as a forced triple, but as a double it would have been just fine. No shortage of storage-- plenty of wardrobe/closet and drawer space. More than he needed. Hard tile floors - suggest bringing an area rug-- and a fan.
