I was accepted into the University of Houston CS honors program with the max scholarship (6,000 a year) behind the Tier One scholarship (full ride). I was selected to compete for it, but that would require submitting a resume and attending an event on January 16th.
My question is, are my chances strong enough to even bother?
ACT 31, GPA 3.7, rank 8/434
Good EC’s.
Too bad there isn’t a U Houston forum. But there is a Texas State forum and people there may be more familiar with the criteria. In general if a school is asking for a resume, they are looking somewhat holistically and it may depend as much on your accomplishments and activities. They wouldn’t tell you that you are in the running and invite you if there is no chance. Did you scour the website to look for any notes on previous recipients?

Hey, there!
I’m currently a Tier One Scholar (class of 2018), and my stats were very, very similar to yours. However, my extracurriculars were also pretty darn good and I interview well. You definitely have a shot. Good luck!
@biobud thanks for responding! Do you have any tips? And what is it like on the meeting day?
Plus how did you format the resume?
Thanks a lot!!
