Austin is city life for kids? Last time I checked, it’s the capital, it has a pretty good university there. I don’t know which Austin you went to but the one I went to didn’t have a city life for “kids” more like for young adults and a adults. Sure Austin isn’t as big as Houston in population but it isn’t a city life for kids.

I guess I should have clarified. It’s an expression I like to use. When I say something’s “for kids,” I mean it’s not superior.

In any case, last time I checked, Rice is > UT Austin. Next…

I never said UT Austin is better than Rice. I said that UT is a pretty good school, which is true.

I was just giving one point (education) on which Houston has better offerings in comparison to Austin. (Again, not really aimed at you.) Don’t get me wrong though…UT Austin is no slouch, especially for a public institution.

Lol I’ve lived in Houston my entire life and it’s BOOOORING!!! That’s why I didn’t want to go to Rice - Austin all the way, baby!!

Rebecca, do you live in Houston, or one of its suburbs? Because Houston itself is pretty great.

^^^^ The suburbs of Houston, are a lot better than the suburbs of other major cities…(they are safe, have a lot of things to do), or at least the one I live in is…

Haha the suburbs…but I do go downtown and it’s mainly just museums and the theater district. They’re fun, but you can only go so many times.

So basically what I’m trying to say is that I hate Houston for getting rid of Astroworld.

Not to sound snooty, but I figured as much… I mean I think The Woodlands and Sugarland and all that jazz are nice, but I’d probably go crazy. I can’t imagine living anywhere outside of Montrose, or the Inner Loop for that matter. Add to that the fact that I’d be quite interested in finding a Houstonian whose favorite neighborhood is Downtown. Not…going…to happen.

At some 600 odd square miles, with quite a bit of what might appear an odd mixture of suburban and urban, it might almost seem like the suburbs are Houston; However, the city is a little different from the city. Political differences would be just a start…

Though I agree I am angry at Houston for taking away Astroworld.
