I didn’t hear of an honors program at TU, either!

I think silverado wrote that the child was offered Honors at TCU.

TU does not have an honors program, but students may apply to do honors in their major for the senior year, which will involve different things, depending on the major. If successful, I believe there is a notation made either on the transcript or diploma.

Choosing Trinity over Claremont schools is HUGE to me as a parent.

My kid is only in 10th grade. I have been compiling a list of schools and dividing into catergories for him to look at seriously next year. The Claremonts just seem to offer something so unique in the “small” school experiene but large school number of students in the consort. I went to a small CTCL LAC and by senior year felt I had outgrown the social life. The Claremonts as a group present as a place where one would not outgrow socially.

Trinity is on our list because 1. Merit Aid 2. son wants to go to school in a different region and warm environment.

I know you have reported your daughter and your family have been very happy with Trinity. Now that she is coming to the end, does she feel like she has outgrown it socially?

Can you remember any specifics as to why she choose Trinity over Claremonts?

Is it easy to change majors at Trinity?

My son has no idea of major and the biggest drawback to the big Us for him is the ability to change majors without tacking on more years.

Yes, I was referring to TCU Honors College, which offers perks that are compelling.

But I guess, in a way, Trinity is like an honors college on and of itself.

We’ll know more after next weekend.

Longhaul,

Look for a PM in a bit! But in short, it’s all good!

Hi my son is also accepted to Trinity for engineering. I understand that they are building a new engineering building? So the major may be comprimised due to relocating to the Math building. Have you learned more since January? Also heard that the program is not fully ABET or whatever, certified for engineering disciplines. My son wants to focus on M.E. so guess that is a pretty important criteria. He also has nice merit aid for the 4 years. Anyone with info on Trinity engineerring please chime in.

They are building a new science building, but it won’t be ready until those admitted in fall of 2011 are juniors.

How would the major would be “compromised” over what it is today if they sit in another building, as long as the faculty and courses will be the same?

Don’t know about certification, is that in their catalog?
