How about a roll call

i don't think so

The candle will be lit today, with prayers that each of you finds happiness and success in the place God has chosen for you.

Okay, I am on a roll now, doing what I can to get all of us to relax a bit and think about something other than the ND admissions process...

Check out the "Let's have some fun" posting string on the board. It's a fun questionnaire that should be of interest to everyone. You know, something we can talk about other than EC's, recs, and all the other acronyms only people on this board know!

bump to keep us in mind and prayers

ahhah trust me
not a day goes by when i dont think about Notre Dame and other students applying.......... I'm all hyped up right now and ive got a year to go before I apply...... can't imagine whats going on in your minds........... Good Luck... wut only a couple more weeks till ea decisions right?

3 weeks today till Dec 19 . Hopefully we'll all be saying congrats by then as we post our own acceptances.

Is December 19 the date they go out, or the date they say that if you haven't heard by then, you should contact them?

Dec 19 is the date to contact them if you haven't heard

So it could conceivably come earlier? I know the last time I waited through this vigil in December of '04, there were resourceful people who were actually privvy to when the envelopes were mailed from admissions. Anybody doing that this time?

I was countining on you for that info! The 15th is a Fri so what's your guess for when they are mailed? It seems last year people were getting them around the 17th. Adm must be reading these boards and laughing at our craziness.

I think they will get mailed on Friday the 25th and arrive on Monday the 18th.

whoops! I meant Friday the 15th.

you really think they wouldn't mail them out until the 15th? I would assume that they want to guarantee that every letter reaches its destination well before the December 19th deadline (otherwise they will get several thousand crazy phone calls from people like us lol). I would think they would mail them out a bit sooner than that so that they can reach the west coast well before the deadline.

^I agree with you. I would think they would go out by the 11th...but what do I know.

Oh! It is getting really hard to wait! And, then again, I can hardly believe that it is December already... We all must promise to post as soon as we get anything!

Having been through this once, I can tell you that the university isn't terribly worried about frenzied phone calls regarding anything--be it admissions decisions or housing assignments. They do this every year and they aren't in a hurry...

I remember stopping by the campus the summer before my son's freshman year, thinking--oh so wrongly!--that I'd be able to sweet talk my way into finding out what dorm my son would be in. As it happens, I got the same vibes from the housing people that I remember getting as a student--if they aren't going to tell you, they aren't going to tell you. If the letters come out late, the letters come out late. When it comes to getting information out, they will do so when they've got all their ducks in a row and have all the information correctly; if that means delays, that means delays. They are like Buckingham Palace guards when they want to be.

If I recall, both the early action letters and housing assignment notifications went out later than the projected date. From a parent or student perspective, this is a bummer, because the number one thing we want is an end to the wait. The number one thing they want, however, is to make sure they've got it right--they won't be rushed. When you think of it, their priority makes sense.

I would clear my head of any notions, though, that the process is driven by convenience to us. It isn't.

I'd imagine they'll hit the Dec. 19th deadline, but I wouldn't be making any other assumptions, because you will most likely end up being disappointed.

At least, that's how it was for the class of 2009.
