how about Economics in Case?

Hi,I will join Case this Fall semester, majored in Economics.

Dept. of Econ is in the Weatherhead School of Management, not as usual in the School of Arts and Sciences. Any differences?

Also, I found the undergraduate management program is strong, how about the Dept. of Econ?

And do u guys know the situation of Weatherhead graduates ? Persue a Ph.D.? or getting a job first? I mean the average level.

For the city of Cleveland, is there many jobs for finance-oriented students?

Thanks a lot.

For econ, they are strong in micro but very weak in macro.

maybe u mean the research level, how about the undergraduates?

No, the77 means at the level of undergraduate instruction. Econ is not, as a whole, strong at Case. And it is especially obvious in marco-focused classes. That being said, its location in the business school is a positive, as outside of the BME and biology programs, it is one of the stronger areas here. Of course, that is a highly relative term, as excluding a few select science programs, the general academic climate is quite unimpressive.

I check the first destination survey report by Career center, I see about 5 out of 23 ECON graduates were admitted into a top graduate program.
You know ,I wanna know more about the situation behind these figures,
So, for Econ undergraduate of Case who wanna persue a phD, what's your personal opinion ?

Sorry, I wish i knew ANYTHING about econ at Case so that I could help- but i'd take gprime's advice with a grain of salt, he seems to trash everything.
