Honestly, I didn't look at the link you posted. BUT, seriously... what kind of backpack you decide to use does not really make a difference. How often you carry your laptop to campus with you depends on what classes you take (for me, I pretty much NEVER take mine b/c its useless for science class notes.) You'll probably use it a lot more if you're a North campus major. And yes, of the 10,000+ people that walk around campus daily there are many, many people that use messenger bags. Keep in mind, 95% of the time, all you'll need is paper and a pen/pencil for lectures and occasionally you'll need a book for discussions...

Are you kidding me? Getting a LeSportsac laptop case? If you're gonna throw your money away on brand names, get a decent tote at least!

Save money! Use a paper bag!

YES FREAKING GET TOKIDOKI. :p  :\ :p

I don't like the idea of the flappy thingy on the bag. Get a tote made of kevlar.

don't get tokidoki

DONT GET TOKIDOKI

Why not, MadeInChina? It looks decent to me, though WAY vomit-inducingly cute. And this coming from someone who carries around a Hello Kitty tote.

If I ever see a Hello Kitty tote around campus, I'll think of you.

because my mom's friend has a tokidoki bag and i get sick of seeing those creatures all over the bag :(

well on a serious note, like ckings said, it really doesn't matter what kind of bag you choose to use :)

That's so sweet! :*

how much books would i carry? how big of a backpack or shoulder bag would i need?? i guess i'll pack all of mine and figure it out during the first wks...

None.

You'll be bringing a widdle notebook and a few pens.

so is the laptop pack okay for an everyday thing??? or should i return it and get something else?

Hmm... what's your major? I'd invest in a better laptop case really. Function over Fashion!

Ya, figure that out. Generally don't lug around your textbooks to class... actually, rarely. Sometimes, carry the small books for your N. Campus discussion sections... and perhaps the math textbook to get add'l helps from T/A w/e.

psychobio major!
so if not the sportsac which one would u recommend? im out of ideas :(

I prefer backpacks over messenger bags. More storage and no accidental swingage.

Try the OGIO Metro. They sell for $35 at Circuit City and have great storage capacity and features. Plus, I think OGIO isn't too big in SoCal so it won't be as conspicuous as say, a Targus.

Otherwise, North Face and Eddie Bauer are good (as are a lot of small companies such as STM that I'm not going into). Dakine has good bags if you want something casual looking. Jansport laptop backpacks are overpriced, as are Swiss Army. Samsonite has funny pockets.

The best laptop backpacks by far were built by Willow Designs. I say were because the company went bankrupt. Every bag was hand-sewn and had lifetime warranties, they are VERY hard to find. But the fact that the warranties are now invalid mean that you can bargain one (Kerouac is the middle-sized model) for $80.

lol ya i just looked up the ones u suggested..and i should say they emphasize quality over appearance
im a girl and i want something that also looks cute lol
any recomendations?

Nobody is going to look at your laptop case's brand name.

...You want appearance over quality? Dakine...? Oo'
