Hi, I have very recently got a reality check after going through my first two years of high school lazily. I know my chance for a top college are absolutely destroyed but I am still aiming for the University of Minnesota. Please give me the odds of getting accepted into the University of Minnesota AND Southwest Minnesota State University.

Current GPA: 3.25
Class Rank: 28/89

Classes taken my freshman and sophomore year:
English 9 & 10 - 1 A, 2 Bs, 1 C
Social 9 - B and A-
US History - 2 Bs
Physical Science - A and B
Biology - 2 Bs
Careers/PE/Computer - A and B
Geometry - B and C
Algebra II - B and C-
Pre-Engineering - 2 Bs
Manufacturing - A
Health/PE - 2 As
Band - 3 As and 1 B

So yes, they were terrible. During my summer before my junior year I finally realized how important it is to succeed, which sucks it took so long. But here are my grades for my first semester of my junior year: (Parenthesis indicate my expected grade for current semester)

Technical Writing - A (Accelerated English: B)
Chemistry - B+ (B)
Physics - A- (B)
AP Government - A (A)
French I - A (A)
World History - A (Economics: A)
Band - A (A)

I intend to take Pre-Calc, American/World Lit, French II, Band, Plant/Animal Science, Acounting, and AP Biology next year and expect to get As in all but Pre-Calc and AP Bio.

I have only taken the PSAT so far and have received a 58 in all three categories.

For extracurricular activities I am in:

FIRST Robotics (Lead programmer)
Knowledgebowl (Junior Varsity Team)
Jazz Band (4th Trombone, Teacher claims lowest is most important)
Pep Band (1st Trombone)

I will be taking the ACT in April, June, and Fall of next year until I get at least a 30. I hope to get it in April or June.

So, what are my odds of getting into the U of M or SMSU after slacking off my first two years of high school? Thanks.
