How accepting is UVA of gay people? Especially for someone who does not flaunt their sexuality, but just wants to be comfortable in a stable environment.

Very accepting!

Okay awesome, b/c my current school is extremely accepting and was sort of nervous about UVA in that regard.

Sigma Omicron Rho is a frat/sorority for GBLT students–not a house that people live in, but a coed social group that, I hear, throws great parties.

I’m gay and I loved UVA. It was very accepting.

This makes me feel so much better! Thanks everyone!

I’m also gay so that was a concern of mine. However, after visiting I’m pretty sure that it is accepting. Everyone that I came in contact with didn’t care about sexuality at all.

There’s also a Queer Union type group which seemed pretty active. I saw some group on Facebook that threw a gay week or something. One of the events was a gay prom and I think a drag contest…there was even a little office for the queer union thingy in Newcomb!! Now that’s pretty awesome!!

What about for someone who may do greek life? I don’t even know if i want to. Im just curious
