How accepting is William & Mary of gay people? Especially for someone who does not flaunt their sexuality, but just wants to be comfortable in a stable environment.

It’s extremely accepting and for a school of our size, I think our gay population is quite large. People here are very chill and comfortable and you probably won’t encounter any problems.

very accepting

Ditto pmk. I’ve never heard a disparaging remark at the College.

Very accepting. Also, the new rector Jeffrey Trammell ([Jeffrey Trammell (?73) elected new Rector](http://www.virginia-informer.com/archives/1979)) is gay.

W&M really values diversity in all of its forms and celebrates different perspectives, cultures and lifestyles. Whether students are more reserved about sharing their sexuality or very public about it there is a place here for them as well as support services and organizations for students who wish to get involved or who are seeking any kind of assistance.
