Ok so i took the kaplan 12 week SAT prep course.. and it was horrible, i dont think it helped me that much or anything. Anyway, we also had to take 4 practice SAT's.. one every 3 sessions, and i was wondering, does anyone know how accurate these tests are compared to the SAT? I mean they look VERY similar, but i dont know if it truly is under the hood.. anyone have any experience?

Well on CB i have a 2100 on Kaplan i have a 1900. That's unaccurate though because i didn't start studying until a week ago in which i got a 2100 and started to understand questions. I take a kaplan practice test this sunday so i'll give you an answer on that. But from what i see.. it's similar although the math questions are potentially different. They're aren't as many circle shaded problems as they give. More so area ratio of the fraction.

Kaplan's unrealistic. Stay away. Use only CB materials.

I agree completely with what Arachnotron said, but for one exception: Gruber's SAT book is excellent for math concept review and practice.

In what way do you think kaplan is unrealistic...
Just Curious!?!?

I got a 1710 on my first kaplan test and I got a 2110 on my 1st SAT. Ill have a 2200+ when Im done.

what way? it's not CB. that's why it's unrealistic. Sell your book if you still can.

I think Kaplan was really good. in my kaplan practice tests I got 2020, 2200, and 2300. On the SAT I got a 2300. My experience with Kaplan though is that their math section is about the same, but their reading is harder than the actual test and that their writing is easier than the actual tests

Kaplan is terrible. Being harder does not mean that it better prepares you. In fact it is harder because it asks questions not asked on the SAT so it doesn't actually prepare you.
I feel sorry for elephant73 who might have been able to pull of a perfect score if he/she used BB tests instead of Kaplan.

yeah i agree with 4.0 my kaplan scores are 1900-2000 while my college board is 2100-2250. I got really nervous for the huge discrepancy in scores until multiple people told me there was nothing to be afraid of.
