How Accurate are these SAT BOOKS...?

The Official SAT Study Guide : For the New SAT - by Collegeboard

My Most Recent Scores are
750-800 Math
580-640 CR
610-740 Writing (essay score 8)

so the range is 1940 - 2180....
But the range is so huge....is this book even accurate?

New SAT - by Princeton
11 Practice Tests New SAT - by Princeton

I personally dislike these books, for one, the questions are not as similiar to the Real SAT that I will be taking in OCT. Another reason is...I'm not quite sure if the Princeton Review Books are any accurate...?

To answer your first question, the CB's scores aren't meant to be accurate. The reason why they give you a broad range is 1) so that people don't accuse them of distributing inconsistent exams and 2) because it really varies from test to test.

As for practice tests from other companies, they usually will not be very accurate, especially since they aren't completely familiar and adjusted to the new SAT. 11 Practice Tests is notorious for having infamous typos and inconsistencies and being noticeably different than the actual test.

Its good to practice on thats all

thank you guys for the good insights, but one more question

since the blue book has such a wide score range, is it accurate enough to predict that my SAT score for october will most likely lie within the score range?

I know some people have said that their Blue Book predictions were right on with their actual scores. I also know people who say exactly the opposite.

It would be safer to say that your score range on the actual SAT will likely overlap with the range given in the Blue Book.

hopefully the score will be accurate, because if that is true, i will be improving 300 points on SAT
