how accurate is college data's admissions tracker?

I know that the chance calculator is a load of crap, but there’s this interesting thing on the website where seniors sign up on the site, and create their profile (SAT, W &UW GPA, ACT, colleges he/she applied to, ECs, etc). If you search for a college, it has a scattergram like the one on Naviance with all the people who got denied, waitlisted, rejected, etc. and where their gpa and SAT scores lied on the graph. You can even click on a person plotted on the graph which leads to his/her profile. The skeptical thing about it though is that the applicant himself is the one who declares if he got denied or accepted to the different colleges he applied to on the site.

is this reliable? it seems like it is but im still a bit suspicious…
