Actually, it clearly stated in the application they take all grammar and spelling into consideration. I don’t think it’ll hurt you though if you tried your hardest. Good luck
@cmartin12 I’ve had errors in mine and I could’ve sworn it was flawless (didn’t hurt me). I doubt it’ll lower your chance.
I feel that it’s much more important to write clearly. I wouldn’t worry about punctuation unless you confused every comma with a period (I exaggerated—I mean to the point it bothers the reader). Good luck!
From experience, I can assure you that it is highly accurate.
Don’t worry if your transcript does not load when others appear to be loading.
My transcript loaded almost 2-3 weeks after the first accounted load (Winter 2015), so it may be too early to determine anything.
I’d give it some time still - decisions go out between March 15 -31st and my understanding is that when a transcript loads, that means that the decision has been made and the letter actually created. So the loading may not even happen much earlier than you receive the letter.
Also, minor spelling and grammar mistakes are not going to make or break you. Admissions counselors are literally spending 1-2 minutes per essay and are skimming it more or less. Content is most important. (Though obviously if you have horrible errors throughout, that will be noted).
Best of luck!
Can someone explain this to me? I can’t even register for a UW NetID because I don’t have the PAC or system codes. I do have an account that lets me see the pdf of my application though. ???
@cwordsworth12
Hmm, interesting.
They usually e-mail you a link after applying, which allows you to sign up for a MyUW account.
Try going through your e-mail again, you may have missed it.
If not, I recommend contacting an advisor.
@ Thanks! I actually just checked my previous emails and found a link to reset everything. Transcript hasn’t loaded yet, so the wait continues…
