<p>If you actually put in a large amount of time every week to studying between your PSAT and SAT, your score will (most likely, or at least in my case) show a large difference.</p>
<p>Sophomore PSAT: 1840
Junior PSAT: 1940
Junior SAT: 2230 (740 CR, 690 M, 800 W - 12 essay)</p>
<p>If you study, your score most likely won't go up drastically. But, between sophomore and junior years, your scores will undoubtedly go up, as you become more mature and intelligent.</p>
<p>I haven't taken the sAT yet, but my CR scores are like 70's and I'm hoping with going to school more and stuff my math and writing can go up drastically. My math went up by 10 points with just half of a semester of school learning how graphing lines work and stuff like that and my writing will prolly go up once I finish my English class. Too late for PSAt though, guess I'll just have to focus on sAT.</p>

<p>Let me divulge some information here.</p>
<p>Sophomore year I studied a few hours to get that score.
Junior year i didnt study for either and for the junior year SATs i forgot my calculator. </p>
<p>So what's the lesson here? PSATs, at least for me, were harder. There was no new information i learned between taking the PSATs and the SATs and i studied far less for the SATs. </p>
<p>And it turns out I was a National hispanic scholar with my PSAT score. LOL.</p>
<p>To the Original Poster: going fomr 198 to a 240 is a HUGE jump... I mean that is way too large to be nothing short of a miracle or a mistake.</p>
<p>By a miracle or a mistake: a mistake meaning a really huge obvious error on your Soph PSAT. A miracle being a huge lucky occurance on your junior PSAT(a perfect score? GOOD JOB). </p>
<p>Most of my friends increased only 2-5 points from Freshman to Sophomore year. I increased over 19 points, but I can explain it.(I did alot of math over the summer; Hence a 10 point jump) I've always been weak with CR/Writing. I started looking at prep stuff, and this summer I'm trying to do like 5 hours a week. </p>
