how am I doing so far?

Hey everyone!

What are my chances of getting into Cornell or maybe even Harvard or any other top school for liberal arts?
I'm a sophomore in high school right now and here's how I've been doing.

In freshman year:
my class rank: 23/ 331
weighted GPA: 4.361 and unweighted: 4.0

Extra activities:
1) 2 volunteer clubs
2) the newspaper
3) Drama: musical and spring play
4) volunteer independently at an organization

classes: all honors and one academic

sophomore year:
GPA and class rank: TBD (but it might be pretty high considering the classes I'm taking)
activities:
1)Literary Magazine
2)the newspaper
3) 2 volunteer clubs
4) Key Club: Vice President
5) The Spring Play
6) Speech and Debate club: might go to states next year
7) vegetarian club :)
8) marching band: but I quit that because it takes up too much of my time
9) still volunteer independently at organization

my strengths are communication and writing. I really am aiming for going to states for speech and debate next year and win the girls speaking contest that we have next year.

classes: all are at the highest levels, a major bump since freshman year

In my junior year: I'm taking the highest level of classes, including 2 APs (our school does not offer many until senior year) will add on Mock Trial as one of my activities. I also plan to acquire leadership positions in most of my clubs. I will also be taking the SATs (wish me luck).

So how does it look? Any advice?

Thanks so much :)

Oh I and I forgot: I come from an Asian Indian family, so that may ruin my chances.

Nothing on your application really sticks out. It’s pretty much ideal for every non-Ivy League school in the nation, but you really need something to impress the admissions office with if you want in.

Well Borb you are right. Standing out has been a big problem for me. When you say “stand out”, you mean win awards and first places, and show to the community that I am a leader? I really don’t have much time left, so if I cram everything into the last year, will admissions notice?

They’ll notice that you crammed everything in on the last year, but it couldn’t hurt.
Make the most out of your summers, experiment with things in your field of interest, conduct labs relevant to your major. And be sure to score 2250+ on the SAT.

Thanks!

BUMP

Ok please be straightforward…is my high school record so far a joke?
