How am I doing?

I'm starting to get pretty nervous about college, and I'm looking for some feedback on how my highschool career is going what kind of schools I have a shot at. I'm guessing not that great, though.

My GPA is 2.27(using the max of 4 scale), I know that's pretty bad but let me explain. My freshman year I was pretty dumb, and managed to get 2 Ds both semesters, so that's probably what's holding it down quite a bit. I got my crap together last year and pulled out with mostly Bs, but managed to get a few Cs boths semesters. This year was tougher and I'm getting mostly Cs with a few Bs sprinkled in. I do however go to a prep school that's pretty tough, and all of my classes are honors. My ACT score is pretty good which is plus I guess, it's a 26.

What am I looking at, do you think I can get into a decent school?

There are all kinds of schools out there, and decent ones that i’m sure would be targets for you. You have to be realistic though given your stats. You should try to improve that ACT and get some As.

Another option is going to a local community college or a state college that’s easier to get into, get good grades (at least 3.0) then consider transferring to a better school.

I agree with handemom. I have talked to tons of kids on CC who have transfered from Community Colleges to great schools after working hard for two years.
