So I'm new to this, and I guess I just basically put my resume here for y'all to see. So I go to an EXTREMELY competitive high school in North Carolina where everyone really cares about grades.

Cumulative average: 91 which is about a 3.7 weighted GPA at my school

SAT Reading: 520
SAT Math: 660
SAT Writing: 600
ACT: (Taking it next Saturday)
SAT Subject Tests: (Just Took Math Level 2 and History)

Junior Year Schedrule:

A.P. United States History

American Lit/Writing Seminar
International Relations/P.E.
Study Hall

Senior Year Schedrule:

A.P. Environmental Science
A.P. Government
French 5
Calculus
Advanced World Lit
Photo/Sixties
Study Hall

Extra Activities:
2 years Varsity Baseball
2 years Varsity Soccer
Church Group
A bunch of pointless clubs
Beta Club
National Honor Society
Some more I can't think of

I want to apply to:

University of South Carolina
North Carolina State University
Elon University (NC)
American University (DC)
George Washington University (DC)
University of Richmond
Wake Forest University
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

So I really want to go to University of South Carolina on Instate Tuition Scholarship (which requires my grades and a 1250 SAT or 28 ACT) so I figured I'd look at a lot of possible reaches to see if I can get in. Thanks guys!

O and I want to do International Business or maybe become a U.S. History teacher but probally International Business.

anyone have suggestions?

I think that for some of those schools, your SAT's might need to be higher.

Ya, I agree. Do y'all think I have a good shot at a place like Richmond if I did get my scores up to say 590 reading, 670 math, and 620 writing?

anyone else? for all you regualr students out there this would probally be a good one to read.

yeah, i agree. scores need to be higher for some of those well known schools. and when you say "bunch of pointless clubs" i hope that you wouldn't undermine them. either i would not list it on your app or have at least some good thing to say about them because college admissions will most likely ask about your involvement in those things. as for u of s.c., good luck. i used to live in s.c.,and usc was pretty good. definitely, use the instate scholarship to your advantage. but i would still suggest that you take another SAT.

Get your reading up to the 600+ range and you've definitely got a shot at UNC and Wake, but you're looking good for NCSU, especially because you're in state.

Ya sorry about the "pointless clubs" thing. I'm involved in a variety of clubs, but I don't not much time is required for them. I just wrote Beta Club and National Honor Society because they're nationally recongnized clubs that actually require a good amount of time and service to be in. Thanks guys.

you could "get in" to all of those schools maybe... wake forest and UNC... i don't know... but for that instate scholarship and raise your SAT. are u a minority?

go for that instate scholarship*

unfortunately not a minority....about as white as they get haha. Ya I would like to get some money off schools; basically, my parents told me they wouldn't pay for anything more expensive than Elon (27,000 Room and Board). So I'm looking at UNC and NC State, since I'm a resident, but with Richmond (which is my 2nd choice behind South Carolina) and Wake and GW, I'm hoping need based aid will pull the tuition from around 45k to 26 or 27k. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know about those schools I listed?

anyone want to recommend schools based on the ones I listed....

Lehigh--if you're ok with a social scene dominated by frats. Academics are supposed to be great though.

Do you guys think I should look at more safeties like instate schools such as App or UNCG, or do you think I will get into enough of the schools on my list (not really planning on getting into UNC-CH or Wake).

If you get your reading up to a 600ish, then you've got a really good shot at UNC CH.
