How am I supposed to apply when I don't even know what my matches and safeties are? No one here has helped me out in detail. My GPA is a 2.07 and SAT's are 1700/2400, with a decent amount of extracurriculars and activities. I've listed the colleges I want to go in previous thread, but I can't trust some of the members here. For example, some colleges I was thinking of applying to were Seton Hall, Pace, Rutgers-Newark, and Fairleigh Dickinson. Some tell me they are reaches and some tell me I will get in without a problem. With up and down responses, how am I supposed to feel confident to put that college under my match list or my reach list? I'm stuck and I seriously don't know what to do. If I was a student with like a 3.9 GPA like most of you students here, I would trust a lot of members since the "top, well known" colleges are recognized by a lot of members here and have a strong idea of whether that school is a safety, match, or a reach. But in my case, it's different. Someone please help.

You need to talk to your guidance counselor. I expect that that person will have more information – and more accurate information – than we will.

Also try to take a look at the accepted profiles for each school for the last year…that will give you an idea of what schools are looking for

^Where do I go check to look at the accepted profiles

Check out the college website, on the admissions page. That’s usually where they have the stats of the incoming freshman class…things like gpa, scores, class rank, etc.

go to collegeboard.com and start with “College Search”, always a good place to start. CC tend to be focused on the 3.5+ and top schools but there are many many thousands of schools beyond the 100 or so than are commonly referred to here… Just try and find the school thats right for you…

“My GPA is a 2.07”

This is going to be a big barrier for you. Go back to your guidance counselor, and sit down with him/her to look at where students with comparable grades and test scores from your HS have been admitted in the past three or four years. Those would make a good start for your safety/match list.
