HOW AND WHAT SAT/ACT SCORES TO SEND TO UC's AND CSU's

  1. Is it true that you just have to send your scores to one UC campus and the rest of the UCs will receive them? Also, this is done over the college board website right? I ask this because one website said that all cal state colleges will receive a test score if you send it to one over csumentor and was wondering if this was the case with the uc website or still over college board.
  2. Do I have to send my ACT scores to UCs too? I was wondering this because they said that they would take the highest score out of the tests you send, but i have a really low ACT score and I wasn't sure if they meant the highest score from the SAT/ACT combined or separately. Would they take say the highest score which happens to be my SAT score and disregard the lower sat scores and the act score or would they consider my highest sat score and my highest act score(which is low)?

3.Do all CSUs superscore?(primarily cal poly and san diego state)

4.If they do superscore, do I have to choose the highest scores to send them myself or do they do it themselves and take the highest scores from all the test dates?

  1. Do CSUs require you to send all the test score too like UCs?
  2. Can I send my SAT score from 4 months ago with the same fee waver that I have that allows me to send scores right now?
  3. How do I know if colleges received the test scores?

Sorry for all the questions it just seems like the more I look the more questions I have and I’m also questioning if somethings have been changed between the old SAT and the new SAT. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

  1. Yes you send your SAT scores to one campus through College Board, it will be shared with the other campuses on your application. On the CSU application, there is a score manager, so after you submit your application and send your test scores to one CSU campus, you can go to the score manager and send your scores to the rest of the campuses.
  2. You have to send all SAT and/or all ACT scores to the UC's and they take the highest score from a single sitting.

3-4. The CSU’s do superscore so it is to your benefit to send all scores.

  1. Since CSU's superscore, you should send all test scores but not all are required. Any test scores that you report on your application need to be sent.
  2. If you have a 4 free waivers, you can send 4 test scores for free including older scores, unless you use Score choice (where you can exclude certain scores) but the UC's do not accept score choice.
  3. Once you apply, you will given instructions on how to set up your school portal for each school. From this portal you can monitor your application status including if your test scores have been received by the school.

Thank you. This really helped clarify some questions.(That’s a nice dog by the way)
