How are ACT superscores calculated?

I took the ACT back in March as part of a state requirement to graduate. Then, I got a 33 on my English. However, when I took the test again in October, I got a 34 on English, which should have bought my superscored composite to 35. However, combined with my essay, I only had a 33 for my English. Now, for my superscored composite, would colleges take into account the 34 I got or the 33?

I don’t think so. Most colleges just use the highest composite.

Most schools would look at your best composite, however, I know that some state schools and top LAC’s do in fact superscore the ACT. There’s a popular thread on here that lists all the schools that do so.
