I live in the southern suburbs of Philadelphia, so I think that we will experience a direct hit from Sandy. So far, it's just raining steadily; however, tomorrow it's supposed to get much worse. How are all of you holding up and where are you all live on the East Coast?

I live in MA and it’s not bad here yet. But school’s cancelled so happy because I have so much homework to catch up on… I submitted all my early applications today just incase we lose power! Good luck with the storm!

Good, but not good. Here in Southwest VA, just rain, wind is expected tonight all the wya to Wednesday, so power outages will occur. I
m bad because I was hoping for no school; no dice so far, and we
ll probably go, but I
m hoping the heavy winds will sway the superintendent to cancel school. Heard VA Beach got hit pretty hard, but they
re OK.

@Soccersara122 I need to submit my apps too. If this storm knocks out the electricity, I will most likely not be able to make the University of Maryland’s priority date. Electric companies are speculating that power will be out for a week (Even though I doubt that our power company would let the power stay off that long when it supplies the 2nd largest city on the East Coast and its suburbs with power).

@CE527M I hope they’re OK too. DE, NJ, and NY are supposed to be hit hard. This is bad because they all have long coastlines. I hope they can stay safe

Do not give so much credit to the power co. A few years ago we were without power for a solid week.

Maryland- raining like hell, but we still have power-knock on wood. Schools are cancelled for monday and tuesday, which is kind of scary because I dont know whether they are going to push the quarter deadline back or not

It’s raining right now and the temperature just dropped. I have no clue what to do, we have extra food and water, lamps and a health kit. I’m so scared and so stressed out lol.

@Northeastlax I think they’re pushing it back, they better because FCPS always waits till the last minute to do things lol

@FutureDoctor…Yeah, I heard every school in RI is canceled.

…In NY (long island), there is actually nothing happening yet. No rain, no wind, nothing. Little eerie, when you consider it.

I think most of NY is closed tomorrow, probably even the stock market.

Yeah, I’m in suburban NY and there isn’t even any wind. It’s really weird. It makes me feel like all the anxiety’s for nothing.
Then again, that’s what I thought this time last year, when I woke up the morning after a calm snowy night to a power outage and fallen trees and electric lines .
The NYSE is open but only online. My dad’s really grumpy about that.

Speaking from Baltimore here…

Schools are cancelled for tomorrow. My guess is that we’ll have most of this week off. I just hope that UMD extends its application deadline and that I don’t lose power…we’ll see.

We’re expected to get hit with 80mph wind gusts + a foot of rain. Jeez.

LOL same hannah. He’s lamenting having to work on his supposed “day off” tomorrow. And I’m really happy: Columbia extended it’s ED deadline, so I don’t have a tremendous amount of pressure for Thursday.

Plus, maybe I could consider doing some of my work.

Here in Boston, it’s still not that bad as of 10:45 am EDT (pretty windy and foggy, but nothing “damaging”). Pretty much all public schools and colleges are closed today, and MBTA is suspending service starting at 2 pm.

NYC no school tomorrow!

CT- A lot of wind.

Winds are at about 35 miles per hour and it’s super cold outside. My butterfly bush outside my house snapped lol.

I live in CT. Winds are becoming really fast. There’s flooding already in my area. School’s been cancelled until Thursday.

And I still have work at 4.

Well - it’s really windy here - but not raining yet. It’s supposed to really pickup and hit tonight though.

They just cancelled school for tomorrow as well …

It’s getting scary out there! Somehow we still have power though…

In 2nd block they announced there were absolutely NO after school things (sports, clubs, etc) and then in 3rd block they announced we don`t have school tomorrow :D. High winds are coming in tonight and tomorrow with power outages.
