How are decisions released?

I've looked on their website and other sites and couldn't find a definite answer for REA this year. Are decisions released by email?

I’ve also searched online plus I’ve called Stanford admissions office. As far as I understand, since Dec 15th falls on Sunday, the admission decisions will be sent out by email in the afternoon on Friday, Dec 13th, and then depending of what response you get, you’ll receive an envelope in mail the following week: a small one for refusals and a large one for acceptance.
Interesting fact: the email that you’ll receive from Stanford will have a generic subject line of “Stanford University Undergraduate Admissions Decision” so you won’t know the response until you open it. I guess there will be some students who will stare at the subject line for some time before opening the email :):)
Good luck to everyone (and to my son of course!!!) :)

The day before decisions are released, the Admission Office website and Twitter feed will have an announcement saying something like, “We will begin sending REA decisions tomorrow at 3 pm, though it may take several hours before your decision reaches you.”

The subject of the email will be “Your Stanford Admission Decision,” meaning you’ll need to open it in order to know the verdict. Accepted applicants will receive a huge packet in the mail within a week, while rejected and deferred applicants will receive a mailed letter only if they request it.

Last year, decisions were released on December 14th, so they’ll probably be released on the 13th this year.

They replied to my mail and they answered that they are e-mailed to us.
