How are Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Year GPAs Weighted When Combined?

How are Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Year GPAs Weighted When Combined?

For example, is:

Junior Year- 50%
Sophomore Year- 35%
Freshman Year- 15%

I am curious so that I can be able to calculate the GPA myself when the time comes.

Weighted equally.

Depends on the school. Some schools don’t even use freshman grades. As a general rule, the closer to admissions the semester was, the more important.

^^Not true; Princeton, for instance, doesn’t even consider sophomore year grades.

Our school just weights them equally and calculates cumulative GPA as if you took all the classes in one year (so it’s just total grade points/total # of semesters).
