how are grades weighted here???

My school doesnt weight GPA so the highest i can get is a 4.0 (not that its what i have)

so how do schools weight them? do they look at your transcript and calculate it again with respect to the H and AP courses, or is it basically over for me??

schools in question

carnegie mellon
rice
chicago
cornell
washington u in STL
emory

ann arbor
urbana-champaign

thanks!

From what I understand, colleges mainly "unweight" the grades since there are so many different scales it is impossible to actually compare grades. They will, however, note the rigor of the classes when making decisions.

no Weighting done many times.based on the transcripts relative to others....... If u are gud.transcript will surely show it..

bump.........

Do colleges generally assign diff. values for +/-? Will A's and A-'s on my transcript be treated any differently in the "college" unweighted GPA?

i dont think so
A+/- = 4.0
B+/- = 3.0

if your grades are by percentages (eg 92, 85, 99 etc), then youre screwed!!! cuz 92 is like, a 3.6 or something
