How are letters being distributed?

I’m very confused about the whole “batches” thing. Is it really, truly, COMPLETELY random? They’ve gotta have some system, right? For OOS, I assumed people would receive by whoever was closest to Seattle. However, I live in NorCal, and people from SoCal, Nevada, Arizona, and even in areas on the East Coast have already received their letter. Anybody have any idea on how the batches work, and if I should be expecting a letter tomorrow or Saturday?

@ferdinand32 completely random. My dad called admissions and the girl who picked up was super nice and said that she promises they are random. The time you get your letter does not affect what the decision is. Just sit tight

@GabiWasabi‌ I already found out I got accepted, but I just really wanna know if I got the OOS scholarship, but thank you!!

@ferdinand32 completely understand, I’m in state and accepted, but I just want that letter haha!

I don’t know if they are COMPLETELY random. It seems like people who were very qualified (3.8+ GPA, 2100+ SAT) definitely received their acceptance. But there were also people who were on the lower end of the spectrum who were accepted, and I think that part may be quite random. But it doesn’t appear to be random on the top end of the spectrum. People who should definitely be admitted by looking at stats alone seems to have all been accepted.
