How are my chances at Harvard EA?

Sorry this is so long, you can skim if you wish

Female, top 10 public school in a competitive state.
GPA: 3.94 unweighted
SAT: 2380 (Math 780)
SAT II: Chem 800, Math 800, US History 780
Honors/AP Classes:
9th grade: all Honors

10th: Honors Precalc+English, AP chemistry, AP US History 1 (two-part course at my school), self studied AP Music Theory; got 5s in both AP exams
Studied French 4 because I've lived in England and I had a scheduling conflict that prevented me from taking Spanish.

11th: AP English lang, AP Bio, AP Calc AB, AP US 2, Honors Spanish 5 (reverted to Spanish)
5's on all exams

12th: AP English lit, AP Calc BC, AP Physics C, AP Econ, AP Gov, AP Spanish

Bottom line: challenged myself as much as my school could possibly allow, attained proficiency in 2 languages instead of one, and got a few A-minuses. Won't be valedictorian or salutatorian, as my school is full of people that have no lives and study all day. :P But will be in top 1 or 2 % of my graduating class.

ECs:
-Model UN: 2-time elected President of General Assembly, nominated for Premier Delegate Award, President of school chapter
-Youth and Government: Assembly Vice Chair '10, Assembly Speaker '11, winner of Outstanding Statesman award, passed my bill through model Congress, President of school chapter
-Mock Trial Team: school's top witness, took team to states, team co-captain
-People with Pals (penpal program in Spanish to kids in Ecuador): president of school chapter.
-Peer Leaders (school drugs/alcohol awareness team): elected VP
-Violin: private lessons for 14 years, Chamber Orchestra (elite ensemble) since freshman year
-I've had two violin students for the past year.
-Volunteering at local medical center

-Research internship at NYU Langone Medical Center lab for 2 summers; collected/coded data for post-stroke to improve effectiveness of recovery. Worked with mostly medical students and pre-med undergrads. Worked under the direction of primary investigator (PI) who is a doctor at Langone. Traveled alone to NYC daily, for many days a week each summer.

-Indian music (most important): performed over 20 concerts in the US, UK, and India, won over 30 awards and competitions, go to India every year to perform in the music festival, and performed with well known/notable artists. Featured in leading Indian newspaper twice in my high school career. I have a recording contract in India. Performed a benefit concert in the USA in this music style and raised $8,000 for two charities. Another benefit concert scheduled for November this year.
Will try to get an additional recommendation from an eminent music venue organizer in India, who has nice things to say about me.

I really really really want Harvard. I love the atmosphere, the campus, Boston, the programs, the spirit. I have 3 cousins and an aunt that went. I know for sure it's my first choice. Please be honest though; I know Harvard's not a realistic hope for anyone!

Go for it!

You’re right that Harvard is a long shot for almost everyone, but you’ve got a reasonable chance. Beyond a solid academic record, your very high level of achievement in Indian music might get you over the bar. Harvard likes people who’ve shown extraordinary talent in one thing or another, and it sounds as if you can make a case with your music.

What race are you?

As long as you aren’t an ORM, I would say you have excellent chances.

Indian, obviously.
But with these stats and achievements, is there even a point at making a chance thread?

These chance threads are just reassurances. I can relate (since I was in the situation before). Definitely try, won’t hurt to do so. Definitely do well on your essay, and you’ll have a good chance (:

You Indian music will put you over the top. Don’t slow down in that because of your increased academic load. wow! You definitely have a chance at Harvard.

SheeepGetKilled: What is ORM?

Opinion123: How can you chance someone if you don’t even know what an ORM is? It is like predicting who will win the next football game without knowing the rules

PS: ORM= Over represented minority. The percentage of asians at colleges is higher than their percentage in the population, which makes them over represented.

Wait does Harvard even have early action? I heard they do no longer have any EA or ED.

EA was reinstated this year.

AleaJActaEst: What is everybody else making their predictions on? Is someone here from the admissions committee? Do you know what the exact rules are? If you do you should publish a book and get rich. This is all a guessing game anyway.

^You are right. I am sorry if I appeared rude

You can’t get much Better than that.

Send an app to the other Ivy’s, Stanford, MIT too. I’m not sure if you’re interested in the military, but American service academies are also in this tier one category (some have sub-3% acceptance rates for high school men).

I am interested! It’s my career interest that I listed for Harvard!
