I'm applying to Northeastern, University of Virginia, University of Rochester and Cornell.

ridiculously similar to my stats... i think u'd have a decent chance regular better chance 70% early to cornell

my crush just got a call from cornell.
they confirmed he's in & only has to pay $18 grand a year.
genious and a rower...guess that explains it...

bump

and thanks!

bump again.

Your math IIC is the only weak spot - do you have enough energy to retake the wretched test?

It seems like your school grades kind of easily. No doubt you're a good student, but the fact that with a 97.5 you're only 8th in your class of 150 and your SAT IIs are kind of low for your GPA bracket. But you're still way ahead of me on the GPA...

Well, my class is really smart, we all have scores within 1 point of each other in the top ten percent...it's actually the weighting system, it adds like 3 or 4 points on, and they factor in easy-100 classes like gym, band and chorus, too.

Yeah, Ichabod Crane isn't exactly the hardest school, but I do take all the honors classes and stuff.

And no, I don't have time to retake the Math II, I was really off that day, had to leave about 12 blank....nevermind the fact that I never learned matrices...

Yeah, so I'm just going to have to suck that one up and hope for the best.

how bout northWestern rather than northEastern?

sup Joo. Try and get higher more math-oriented SAT score. even if it is 1440 with a 770/670. you're looking at a math dominated field. my bro is doing engineering at Cornell. all i can tell you is he had 1490 SAT (790/700) and a 3.8 GPA unweighted. Good luck man and take another shot at the SAT.

Yeah, I did in November, I was sure I got everything right on the Math part, but I'm prone to making stupid mistakes, so I got a 710....

And Northeastern looks good to me because of their allegedly awesome co-op program, and I run a pretty good chance of getting some kind of scholarship there, too.

jewboy, i'm looking to do some hospital volunteering this year, and I'm wondering how they placed you in the infectious disease unit. Most of the people I know just do basic clerical work. Was there anything special you did?

Oh God Ichabod Crane...you guys have like 25 snow days a year. I go to Bethlehem :)

Well, see, I didn't volunteer, I worked for money, and just between me and you, it's better than volunteering. I think colleges give them the same weight, work and volunteering, and plus you get lots of money out of working.

Anyway I applied for a job in the HIV branch because my aunt is a doctor there. Gotta have connections, I guess. And yeah, I did clerical work, you know, whatever the boss wanted me to do. I also lifted boxes from time to time.

Ah well, whatever, 10 bucks an hour is definitely worth it.

So work! Don't volunteer.

your stats look really good for cornell (i think ur ACT is better than ur SAT but i dunno the conversion), but that IIC really really needs to come up. youve gotta retake that in january. cornell uses the academic index, and a 620 will seriously hurt you i think.

and of course im not an expert, so that may or may not be a good opinion.

Ichabod Crane? I always hate you guys when snow day announcements come up too. Niskayuna gets nothing!

But anyway, I think your stats are great. You don't have to submit the SAT; I'd submit the ACT if I were you (cuz it's equivalent to a high 1400). My stats are pretty similar to yours I think.

Good luck!

You dont need to apply to northeastern....

actually i think the SAT hasta get there because you dont get score choice when submitting the SAT IIs. everything goes. but theyll use the ACT if its better than the SAT for their calculations.

Woo hoo NY Capital Region people unite!

Just a question, does ACT replace ALL SATs? Or just the SAT Is.
