Extra Curricular Activities:
These are strong, but not outstanding. I’ve held several leadership positions, and shown commitment/passion to a few areas in particular. I’m a member of NHS like most applicants… I’m very involved in community service (I’ll probably graduate with 300-400 hours of documented service). I’ve held a steady job (15hrs/week school, 40 hrs/week summer) all throughout high school. I play sports—captain of my team… etc. etc.

In short, I doubt my ECs won’t get me in, but they shouldn’t keep me out.

Essays/Recs:
I think I will have one really, really great rec, one “good” rec, and I think my counselor rec will be pretty strong. I worked hard on my essays and expect them to have a positive influence on my apps (I’ve gotten good feedback), but ya never know! =)

Thank You!

You’re a very solid applicant. Decent shot (less than 50% but decent) RD; a little better perhaps ED, IF those essays and recs are really sharp.
Good luck!

Thanks! Anyone else?

I’d bet there are a lot of applicants out there who wish they had transcript like that to submit. My S2 is in the opposite boat – he has some really great EC’s and volunteer experience, but his transcript isn’t as strong. Good luck!

Thanks! I’ll keep my fingers crossed-- for both myself and your son.

Just make sure your essays really show your personality. They’re integral to your acceptance.

Thanks! I plan to work really hard on those essays.

your stats and transcript are pretty similar to what mine was (although my ranking was much lower), and i got in-- although i am definitely not an above-average tufts student, i will say that much. i think doing the optional essay helps a lot; i also had a great interview. good luck!

Thanks rs18! Did you interview with your regional admissions officer? Do they offer interviews like that? Or was it an alumni interview?

Congrats on being a Tufts student! I envy you. ;)
