How are my chances of getting accepted?

Hey guys. I was just curious if you guys would think that I have any chance of getting accepted into Cornell? Here is some background info:

Top 15% in my class ( I know. I didnt do so well in my honors classes in 7/8th grade)
3.7 Unweighted GPA
Around a 4.1 weighted GPA
I take post secondary which is college in high school taught by college profs. and have a 3.9 there.
Varsity Cross Country (hopefully going to states this year), Soccer, and Track. Captain in all of them.
Studying pre-med
ACT: 29 (E:28, M:34, R:28, S:27)
I have participated in 4-H for 11 years a volunteer A TON!

If you need anymore info, just asked. This is all of the stuff I could think of as of now.

Just give me your honest opinion. This isn't my "dream" school so if you dont think I'll get in, I wont be crushed. I was wondering because I know someone who goes there and only got like a 27 ACT but is a really good football player so that probably played a bit of a factor too.

Cornell reports that almost 90% of their incoming freshman class (fall 2011) was in the top 10% of their class and that 75% of the incoming class scored 29 or higher on the ACT.

http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000504.pdf

Based on this, Cornell would seem to be a bit of a reach for you, though not impossibly so. In other words, no harm in applying, especially if you wouldn’t be crushed if you were rejected.

If your Cross Country, Soccer and/or Track are good enough to compete for you to be recruited at Cornell your chances would go up significantly (as per the football player you know with a 27 ACT.

I am planning on taking the ACT again to try and get a 30+ because I didnt do as well as I had wanted. I am also in the top 11% in my class (missed top 10 because I can only earn a 4.0 and 10th has a 4.1…I have a 4.09 :frowning: )

But for sports, our high school teams suck! We are last in the division in cc and one of the worst in track. But I am one of the few who are decent on the team and have a chance of making it to states.

As for soccer, our high school team is awful. But I play on a club team and our team is one of the top 20 in the nation and we have kids from all over the world playing on there.

Which school in Cornell do you want to apply to? What is your intended major?

Pre med. Which I heard is kinda hard there

Doesn’t hurt to apply, but I would think your chances are well below average. What other colleges are you looking at?

Premed isn’t a school
