How are my chances to an Ivy?

i was joking before, but you seriously have your priorities all wrong if your serious

That I look to a future? That I work towards a goal?

You have no idea where I come from, how I was raised, WHO I AM... what the hell gives you the right to tell me my priorities are wrong?

Man, you think you can find my entire character from a couple of posts. If that's true, your posts tell me that you're a jerk.

You seem like a very angry and stressed-out person. Going to a "prestigious" but unenjoyable school will not help you with that.

that you look to your future thinking it will be GREAT if you only go to a "PRESTIGOUS" school? a GOAL? your goal is to get into an IVY school only because its an IVY? thats what i am talking about, not that you are ambitious, but what you view as success... i am basing my decision only about what u say, and if u read my comment, i said if you seriously THINK and VIEW success like that, then in my opinion, you do have them all wrong...

There is no guarantee that a "presitigious" school will make a good future, and I realize that. But you can hardly argue that it helps.

And just because the school is prestigious doesn't make it suddenly unenjoyable- the prestige of the college often brings together the best of minds, and to go there and find others who worked just like you to get where you are...

Plus, I've already visited at least 6 of the schools I was talking about in my post. I genuinely believe that I'll be happy at any of them, too.

i don't need an ivy league title to prove myself.:)

and it means **** if u went to an "ivy" and dont know what the hell your doing or u cant interact well with people in the world. i know engineers who went to Drexel, and they do better than a whole lot of other people, because they are SMART, and have really enjoyable personalities and passion for what the do and why they do it. u can be that way and still go to an ivy, but an ivy wont make you enjoyable or great

Right, because no college can. And I do happen to be able to interact well, and know exactly what the hell I'm doing. If I can do both and still end up at an Ivy, won't I still be able to enjoy it if it's the right one for me?

yes u will... i think uve been thinking that im saying that your thinking-still with me?- that ivys are no good. but many peoople view an ivy school only as an ivy. they dont see that there is a real SCHOOL behind that, and each of the eight ivy's are different and not all are for one person. perhaps not even one might be for a particular person.

I definitely agree that the Ivy's are viewed too much in that way. The only thing is that the guy earlier in the post just called all those who considered Ivy's because they are Ivy's pricks, and I was trying to respond. I'm sure the OP (hey, you just showed me what that meant) was going to look through as many colleges as he/she could and find the best pick- the prestige of an Ivy is part of the college, but like you said, not the college itself.

yea, well Pete doesnt like all those people who want to go to an IVY only because its an IVY. its just like how i dont like any guy whatsoever after he makes a womanizing comment. i realli dislike ja rule, he songs are so freaking dumb and ignorant...

Ja Rule is an idiot.

I'd just like to say that while its possible to achieve success from a less prestigious school, it's alot harder. Today I had a job interview, and as soon as I said I was going to Princeton, she's like, alright you've got the job. Tell me the name didn't make a difference. ;)

Actually, come to think of it, when I was interviewing for a summer job with Apple Computer, the fact that I'm going to Brown seemed to peak the interviewer's interest.
