How are my chances??

i am a jr at a prep school in NY and im looking to apply to the following colleges sr year:

Columbia (EA)
Duke
Georgetown
Notre Dame
Rice
Fordham (safety, i know a guy on the board)
NYU (super-safety)

My freshman GPA was a 3.75 uw, 3.95 w, which isnt tht great. I took all honors and got 5 As, a B+ and a B.

Due to major distractions around midterms, my soph GPA sucked: 3.57 uw, 3.86 w. I took AP world history (4 on teh test), 5 honors classes and reg chem. I got 3 As 2 B+s and 2 Bs.

This leaves me with a 3.65 uw and 3.9 w. Ive done the math and i can get the uw to 3.77 and the w to 4.2+. Im taking three APs, 3 honors, and an independednt science research class.

My SAT IIs were 780 (world history) and 660 (literature). I plan to take the SAT january and june thsi year.

ECs:

Football (9, 10 (Varsity), 11 (Varsity))
Wrestling (10 (took 6th at states))
Diversity Alliance (9, 10)
NHS (joinin this year)
Kawaida club (9)
Indoor Track (9)
Outdoor Track (9) i placed at sectionals
Spech and debate (this year)
Student government (class board officer fr now but im running later this year)

Ill have 100+ hours of community service by the time im applying. Honest answers please, ive heard enough over-positive stuff from all my friends

Your GPA is probably too low for all the schools on your list except for maybe Fordham and NYU and you really need to have SAT I scores in-hand first and foremost since it is such a key component of the application. Your ECs are thin and do not show much commitment or longevity. NYU would not be a “super-safety” since it is more selective than Fordham. Will you need ANY financial aid? If so, choose in-state affordable, public schools not schools like NYU and Fordham that don’t give good merit-based aid to most of their accepted applicants.

Is a 3.8 really that low? Also, im still doing the diversity alliance thing.

What if i get 2200+ like i plan to?

You must be confused as this isn’t the “chance me” portion of the forums - [What Are My Chances? - College Confidential](Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums)

Check the avg GPA/SAT scores for the schools you’re looking into and see how you fit in. Do some research because based on the stuff you find you will be able to assess your chances as well as we could. The truth of the matter is no one can tell you unless your stats are ridiculously skewed to one side or the other.

A majority of unhooked applicants will not get into Columbia, Duke, and Rice-- even with a 3.77 and a 2200 SAT and thin, short-lived ECs. You wanted “honest” OPINIONS, right?
