I want to get into JMU badly. When applying I'll have around a 2000 on the SAT, with a GPA somewhere around 3.3. I will have taken AP Human Geography, APUSH, AP European History, AP Language, AP Literature, AP Statistics, AP Psychology, and AP World History. I will have also taken IB Economics and two intensified courses in tenth grade.

Will I make it?

EDIT: I should also mention that I'll be coming from an interesting background, having gone to three high schools on three continents. Will my international background help me at all? And will that instability be seen as a decent reason for some of my more lackluster performance?

My brother got in with the same GPA but only around an 1800 on the SAT so I think you should be okay. I am not sure about the background part because JMU is not a very diverse school, I don’t know if that’s just because of the people that apply or the admissions department. My guess is though that it could only help you. Good Luck!!!

3.4 was his weighted GPA and he took Alg. 2 H, English 1, 2, and 3 H, World History H, Geometry H, Geo-Physics H, Bio H, and APES so his unweighted GPA should have been much closer to a 3.0 or even 2.9 because his grades were not the best.
