How are my ECs?

I'm a current junior, and am--probably expectedly--stressing out about the college app process that's to come in the near future! I was hoping some of you would take a minute to assess my ECs, and I welcome any of your insights/advice. I am a girl, class of 2012, and want to go to Northwestern or Michigan to study engineering or premed (not 100% sure yet which).

Summer in Detroit crew leader - community service, yes, but this is something very dear to me and I consider it an EC because of my dedication to the program and my position of authority because of it. I spend the majority of the days in the summer doing it for several hours a day. We provide free day care for underprivileged city kids, paint murals, and garden. As a leader, I instruct the volunteers what to do and communicate more with the people we lend our efforts to. 2 summers of this (summers '10 and '11). (Will probably write one of my essays about this)

Yearbook - co-Editor in Chief; we've won state-level awards. On staff 10, 11, 12; EiC 11, 12.

Varsity Forensics - competitive public speaking. I was a broadcaster for 10 and 11, and next year (12) I'll be informing people about a certain topic. 3 years total.

FIRST Robotics - 2 years (11, 12).

Varsity Tennis 1 year (12), JV A Tennis 3 years (9, 10, 11).

Varsity Ski Team 1 year (12).

NHS - Treasurer (12). 2 years (11, 12 - can join once you're a junior).

Freshman Mentoring Leader - 2 years (11, 12).

...and some other community service/work!

Oh, and possible summer 2011 internship at UofM hospital

And summers '10 and '11 week-long journalism camp at Michigan State

yea theyre fine if ur interested in them and will get some leadership positions, but i dont understand your username, I dont see any physics/science ec’s… lol

My main worry would be the lack of participation as an underclassman.

^Agreed. The OP needed more participation as an underclassmen.

Danny: I’m in Robotics, and I really like Physics in general. I’m considering going into engineering, and I hope to get some sorta job at Michigan this summer (my brother-in-law works there and knows lots of the doctors there). Again, that’s medicine (which I’m also interested in), but perhaps there’s an opportunity for some hybrid of the two? That would be ideal. My leadership is the Detroit volunteering program, editor of my school’s yearbook, treasurer of NHS, and the mentoring program.

glasses/beatles: I’ve done tennis throughout, and started Forensics and Yearbook in 10th. I gained the leadership roles really as an upperclassman, and more opportunities became available to me then as well. Will this be a big issue, nonetheless? I did community service/youth group in 9th grade too.

(Also, I know the ski team randomly as a senior may look a little weird, but I’ve been skiing since I was 3 and didn’t have time to do the team before because of Forensics, but that’s gonna be more low-key next year, leaving me more time.)
