How are my ECs?

I'm a junior, and I'm starting to become extremely alarmed about my ECs. I want to salvage what I can before it's too late... The problem is, my school only offers clubs 2 days a week. I'm already in 5 of them, so I don't see how I could possibly join any more. As far as getting a job (which isn't really an EC, per se, but still looks good to colleges), I have training for my summer volunteering at least one weekend a month, and driver's ed two nights a week, so I really don't have time for a job.

My ECs are:
Tae Kwon Do (black belt, testing for second degree in spring 2013) - 6 years
Violin - 9 years
Chamber Orchestra - Audition-only, 2 years (after 2 years of regular orchestra)
Tri-M - Music Honor Society - 2 years
Spanish Club - Vice-president, probably president next year - 4 years
German Club - 3 years
GLASS Club - Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Spectrum - 2 years
International Service Club - 3 years
Going to South America this summer for 7-8 weeks, doing volunteer work
Youth Court - 2 years, on Leadership Council (until our local Youth Court was disbanded)
Animal shelter volunteering (not much)
Math tutoring - In 9th and 10th grade

I'm looking at top LACs, like Hamilton, Williams, Amherst, etc. My top choice right now is probably Hamilton. How do these compare to others who are looking at similar colleges? And what more could I reasonably add, while still having time to keep up with my homework? I'm looking into more volunteer opportunities, etc., but I don't know what I have time for.

Honestly, your ECs are good, but not impressive because they lack depth.
Don’t add more for the sake of adding more; do what you enjoy. What’s your intended major? What interests you? Do those thing.

My intended major is International Studies (or the equivalent at whichever college - at Hamilton it’s World Politics.) So I show depth in that through my volunteering this summer and language clubs, as well as the fact that I take 4 foreign languages at school and have A+s in all of them. I don’t know what other opportunities I have to explore that, though.

Ahh, I see. It is quite hard to show depth in that case.
You have a leadership position, and you’ve been with Tae Kwon Do and Violin for a long time, which shows perseverance.

Maybe this summer look for some sort of internship?

But if you recall, I’m going to be in South America all summer… Hard to get an internship when I’m busy planting trees and building latrines in Ecuador. =/ Thanks for the help, though.

Ah, man. Sorry, even though you made it clear you were doing it this summer, I read it as though you did it last summer. My bad.

Honestly, your ECs show leadership positions, and now that I kinda have an idea what your interested in - they depth is starting to show - spanish club, german club, international service club.

I wouldn’t add anything more if I were you. Just stick to what your doing.

^I agree; you have many ECs with lots of leadership positions, which is great. But focus on a couple in great depth while keeping the other ones to show that you are really, really passionate. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice. =) Of course, any more opinions would be greatly appreciated.
