How are my ECs?

Everyone else I see on this forum has amazinf awards and research, so I’m getting worried. I’m in key club, a drug awareness club, a recycling club, FBLA, and another volunteer club. I also play tennis and take piano lessons(not playing for school band or anything). I plan on major in business so i think FBLA would look good and I have some volunteer hours from helping at tennis lessons, which I hope shows my passion for tennis. Are these good enough for above average colleges? I may get a leadership position in 2-3 clubs in my senior year.

What is your definition of “above average colleges?”

I think you put it right when you talk about passion. Personally, if you have a great passion for something you will eventually get awards and great achievements doing it. Could it be a tangible achievement? Sometimes not. Maybe sometimes it just shapes who you are as a person which in turn can be an essay topic!

Just don’t drown yourself in many clubs, especially only as a member. I’d say take a few leadership roles in clubs and sports but regardless do whatever you love to do and enjoy it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I truly am only joining clubs that I enjoy, but that leaves me with pretty average looking ECs. Do u think leadership in 2 clubs, 2 clubs as a member, sport, and some volunteering is enough though? On CC I’ve seen so many ppl with research in a lab, starting a business, etc that it’s been worrying me a little.
