So I just got the results from my second midterm back and I have a 62....I got a 77 on the first midterm. I am pre-med so these grades actually matter and I am just wondering how the classes are curved? It's not just me who's doing badly, it seems that I always get the slightly above median score.
Anyone with past experience? Thanks!

You’re better off asking your TA or your professor instead of strangers on the Internet.

I took Principles of Bio last year. Your grades are pretty close to the first and second midterm grades I got in the spring semester (we only had two exams since our first midterm was canceled due to a snow storm). They curve the tests individually and, if you guys all do badly, they recurve your whole average at the end. I was in honors so I believe the curve was a bit harder on us, if you’re in regular you’ll probably get a bit more out of it. I also had a stupid recitation that counted for 10% of my grade.

I think I the end I got a 78 and a 64 and a decent grade in recitation and ended up with a B+ for the semester. That seems to be about the grade you’re headed for, but if you score high on the last one you might be able to pull off the A-.

Hope that helped.
