How are quiet floors on dorms?

I transferred to ISU and got a late house choosing date and now I'm stuck with only quiet floors to choose from!

Are they really that bad and boring? I"m loud and out person, door open for inviting people in, etc.

Now since it's a art student floor and anybody else with a late registration date is also forced to choose a quiet floor, I'm guessing it won't be filled with quiet people.....at least I hope

What do you mean by quiet floor?

My dorm last year, we had quiet hours after 10pm. But our floor had a saying that if it's quiet from 10pm to 2am, then something was wrong.

It's a floor mean specifically for quiet....think of the kind meant for people who study all day.

"I'm guessing it won't be filled with quiet people.....at least I hope"

So you plan to **** it up for the people who chose the quiet floor? Your just an inconsiderate prick, it's not everybody elses fault that you have ADD and were to late to get on an ADD floor.

I guess you like silence.

I imagine that the "quiet floors" will be quieter than the non-quiet floors, but that the people will be fine. Chances are that people won't be blasting music in the middle of the night, but that they won't be all studying quietly, either.

And silencenow, that's a pretty viscious thing to write in response to an innocent question.

quiet.....

haha, I just relized that's my nickname. I didn't even do that on purpose.

Silencenow--

Are you a Martin Sexton fan? If so, that's awesome.

never heard of him

Oh... ok. I only asked because he has a song called Silence Now.

I'm in the honors program at UConn and my dorm is designated as "quiet." Contrary to popular belief, this does not mean that everyone locks themselves in their rooms to study all the time, nor does it mean that partying and socializing don't go on. Rather, it exists so the idiot next door isn't blasting music at 2 in the morning and you can sleep. It more or less guarantees that you will get a good night's sleep. Plus, it's not like you're going to be spending all your time in your dorm room. The parties are all waiting for you out there, you just don't have to deal with them next door.

Yeah. How are those quiet floors on dorms. I heard they were pretty good last time I checked. Man those Quiet Floors on dorms.

:D I think he meant "How are the dorms on quiet floors?". That's ok rageking, we still get you ;)

I would look at a quiet floor as an advantage. You can go to the parties, whithout having the parties go to you. There'll be lots of socialising and you can feel free to leave your door open, invite people in etc. but if you want to scream and jump on your bed at 2am, it might be better to go to somewhere else. It should still be as fun and exciting as any other dorm, just without all the noise and inconvenience.

Man i didn't even know "quiet floors" existed.

our dorms had quiet hours for all floors specific hours, but the quiet halls were 24-hour quiet hours. in other words, do what you want but keep the noise within your room. don't blast music, don't have the tv blaring, that kind of thing. you don't have to sit around whispering all day. people chose the quiet hall here because it has the best view (we have an awesome ocean view)
