Diversity is very impt to me. Interaction among the groups is even more impt to me. How does UGA fare on these? separate, mix, interact or not? What are your observations?

I'd be the first to say that ideological diversity is more prevalent than racial diversity. However, UGA is trying to change this. They have really stepped up recruiting African Americans and Latinos. I have also noticed a considerable rise in the number of Asian American and international students. UGA is obviously trying to overcome its very white image, but, to be honest, I don't see a great deal of mixing (this, of course, is a generalization). Honors students for some reason seem to interact more with others of different races/ethnicities....perhaps they/we are a more liberal-minded group? I would certainly not describe UGA as a hostile place, though.

The race relations are alright at best. If diversity is what you want then UGA is not the best place to go at all. If you come get ready for a bunch for frat boys and sorority girls everywhere you turn. There is no real animosity among any groups though.

simply put, uga is not diverse; unless you're from south georgia (not including the sav) where there is absolutley no diversity, in which case uga is a melting pot..
