How are Regent scholars notified?

My D just received an acceptance letter yesterday. No mentioned of scholarship in the letter and we haven't been able to log in for more specific details. Does acceptance letter include scholarship information if she was chosen? Tulane and Brandeis included scholarship information in their acceptance letters but we don't see it in UCSD's and UCI's.

GPAs: 3.8UW/4.6W (8-9 AP classes with either 4 or 5)
SAT: 2240 (790M/760R/690W)

Well they called me on Wednesday saying I was accepted with Regents. In the “big envelope” was a sheet that told me all of the benefits of being a Regents scholar.

For Irvine, they first sent me a letter saying I was accepted as a Regents scholar. Then a week later, I got the official acceptance letter.

Thank you for the information. I take it my D didn’t qualify. Would you mind sharing your stats to help me get a better understanding of why she wasn’t chosen? Thanks again.

I was also chosen for regents. I’m assuming it was SAT/GPA based as I had 2400 and 4.0 unweighted GPA.

I also got it, and they called me about it. 2320, 3.9 UW

The acceptance letter for me says that I was accepted as a regents scholar, and I received a call from them but didn’t pick up. I’m assuming it’s about regents. 2230 SAT, 4.0UW, Rank 2/850

I didn’t get regents, but my stats are quite similar to light shining’s. 2200 SAT, 4.0UW. Should I call or e-mail them to double check or would that be too pretentious?

Question to Regents Scholars: When you guys check your financial aid, does it mention the scholarship as well?

@tales
It might be but I guess it can’t hurt.

@Syn
Yes, it was quite a considerable amount for me. I think it is supposed to cover all expressed financial need.

Sent from my SGH-T679 using CC

I’ve read online that it only offers $2,000 a year? (with benefits).
I received the Chancellor’s Scholarship but I haven’t been notified if I was a Scholar or not. Will I be getting the other benefits as well? (guaranteed housing, priority registration, etc)

No, it’s $2000 a year, which is all that I got. But if you have need, it covers that too, so if you have need, a regent’s means so much more :(
