I’d like to hear an all encompassing description of the dorms as well. We visited CMC and Pomona College this past summer and I have to admit the CMC dorms looked aweful. We only saw the inside of one of the motel looking buildings… My first thought was this this needs to be demolished and re-built with state of the art building with air conditioning…

Any insights? The Pomona dorms were much nicer!

There are some very nice dorms available. The towers (all redone in 2008 I think) include Stark, Auen and Fawcett. These are 4 grouped rooms with a shared bath, a computer center(in building), laundry, lounges on each floor etc. It used to be that freshman could get into Stark (a substance free dorm). I do not know if that is still the case.

Claremont Hall is particularly nice and usually difficult to get into (upperclassmen). My D2 is a senior and has been in Claremont for 3 semesters.

There are some less than desirable (typically freshmen) dorms. They do renovate regularly from what I have seen. If I were an entering student I would try to get into Stark - my D regretted not doing that freshman year.

The food is terrific- and I am picky. You can eat at any of the 5 C’s and they each have “specialties”. You are far less likely to get bored with the menu when you have 5 different styles to choose from!

NewEngland, are there “all-you-can-eat” options?
