How are the dorms?
You are welcomed to list what you like and not like about the dorms
How many dorms and what are their names?
Big or small?
How many roommates in a room?

I loved the dorms. I live at Crown (one of the older colleges) so they weren’t the nicest dorms ever, but that just added to the experience(: The dorms really have a sense of community, who you live with in your dorms become a second family to you.

There are 10 colleges (Cowell, Stevenson, Crown, Merrill, College 9, College 10, Porter, Kresge, Oakes, and College 8) and each of them have multiple dorm buildings (I only know the names of the actual buildings for Crown).

You can either have a single (which are rare for a freshman to get), double, triple, or quad. Because each college was established at different times and the different buildings were built at different times, there isn’t a ‘standard’ size for the rooms across the campus. I’ve had friends in triples in Crown, and triples in Oakes. The Oakes triple was a lot bigger, but Crown is an older college. No matter what size you get though, you really just learn to deal with a little less space than you may be used to(:

Thanks for your comment!!
Is it hard to make friends there? I’m a bit worry because English is my second language and it’ll be hard to social with other ppl > <
Are there also a lot of English learners in UCSC?

I’m not sure how many English learners there are, but its super easy to make friends. I found a good trick was to just leave my door open or wander around the building. Everyone is in a new place looking to meet new people, so that alone makes it easy to meet others.

That comforts me a lot. Thank ~ :]

In wt yr r u in UCSC?

No problem!

I am currently in my 4th year, but I’m sticking around for a 5th(:
