<p>This was a pretty testosterone-begotten thread in the first place. I mean, “How are the girls?” Seriouslah.</p>

<p>If you’re talking about a push/pull routine where you do supersets with complementary exercises like bench then row, I do pullups or row followed by bench press during down time. </p>

<p>5 day split sounds cool but like how many sets and reps do you do? </p>

<p>with my 3-day split (or i think thats wut you call it), i usually do 5-7 sets of 12-15 per muscle group.</p>

<p>Start out with a warm up set x 12.
3 sets of low reps - up to 8.</p>

<p>Not trying to increase muscular hypertrophy, trying to increase strength.</p>

<p>Ironman is big on keeping your energy efficient. More body mass is dead weight especially after the bike portion.</p>

<p>i do one warm-up set of usually 20 lbs lower than my rep weight</p>

<p>so are you saying i should decrease my reps AND sets but increase my rep weight?</p>
