Someone told me about Berkeley vision, and that doesn't sound too cool. Are there really no attractive girls at UCB, and by that I mean do attractive girls not dominate the campus as they would at UCSB or UCLA? This is a shallow post, but its human nature to want to know about these things, its for my offspring.

Surely out of the 24,000 that go to UCB the majority can't be horribly ugly, right? I need evidence...sexy evidence...its for my offspring.

If your offspring is attractive and your offspring mates with the average Berkeley female, the outcome is likely to be smart and at least somewhat attractive. But genetics are always dicey.

Berkeley women, generally and in comparison to women on other campuses, don't dress themselves up to look as good. I'll leave it to others to comment on the raw material.

lol great post. i'm not gonna lie dood, there's not super hot girls that roam the campus like @ USC. You get alot of cute, natural looking, kinda average girls. If you got the yellow fever like my room-mate, you're in heaven.
However, when there's an ugly girl, it can send cold shivers down your spine with the heinousness. However, you sound like you're down, so usually at the party scene you get a good mix of hotties and girls who take care of themselves, seeing as how girls who don't aren't very sociable. goodluck man, happy hunting.

Man why do these threads always crawl up...

First, attractive girls do not dominate the campus at UCLA or UCSB either. Generally you will see some attractive girls, the occasionally really attractive girl, usually average girls, and sometimes not-so-good-looking girls. This is true at every campus. There is no college (okay, let's say amongst top 50 universities to be safe) that somehow, year after year, admits a disproportionally large amount of attractive students or unattractive students. The major difference might be that at the UCs you will find a plurality of Asians while at an Ivy that may not be true. But on every college campus you will find every kind of people and it's not a long search.

Besides, what matters much more than how many hot girls are on a campus is your ability to win one. If you can't get a hot girl then it doesn't matter if the campus is filled with them because they won't go for you. They're not going to lower their standards; there are plenty of eligible guys at every campus, and they can always stay single. So stop worrying about the campus and start worrying about yourself. It's for your offspring.

If you want to bask in eye-candy then I'm afraid that Berkeley isn't really that place. Most of the girls are moderately attractive, and very few are super duper ugly. There are even a few that make me gasp and stare and then turn away and then stare again because they are so gorgeous. This happens occasionally and I'm sure that they already have 100 guys at knocking at their doorstep. I do suspect that there is a hierarchy, where the hotter girls (relative to others) are worshipped and popular among both sexes. Even though no one says anything I can tell, because they have more friends and more people seem to want to talk to them. Anyways you come to Berkeley for a good education, not to mate and have offspring. After getting a degree and landing a good job, you will see more women flock to you but until then keep studying hard!

Actually I disagree with that. You probably won't get to be in an environment with thousands of single, intelligent girls your age again once you get out of college. Might as well date around a little.

College is pretty much the last good chance for most people to find their other half. But it is true: in general people like to flock to those who have money.

According to my high school teacher, back in the days a girl goes to college to find a guy.

the same can be said for the reverse... har har har

i would love to disperse the myth of berkeley goggle... but i can't. after spending a week at UCSB, my berkeley goggle is gone. its a torture walking around campus :(

If there are so many complaints about the quality of women at Berkeley, then what about the men? It's not like they're so hot. (Well, I don't really know yet as I will enter Berkeley as a freshman in the fall, but this is just a point that should be made in defense of all women in the world.)

Honestly, I think the reason why Berkeley's women are judged so low because the ideal woman in America is blond hair blue eyed, and there are not that many of those here at Cal compared to other school. We're about 40% Asian, and the Asian appearance is not viewed as favorably as the white appearance. So if we are judged by an American standard of beauty, I would understand why our girls are graded so harshly. I think if any person from Asia came to Berkeley to judge the girls, we would rate much higher.

You know, I usually ignore these threads, or at best laugh at the sheer shallowness of them... but I'm really beginning to wonder: in all of more than thirty THOUSAND people who attend Berkeley, are you really vain enough to think that most--or even many--are just not up to your "par"? Even to entertain such a notion is a tip in the direction of pure conceit.

And punkdudeus, do you even know what "heinousness" means?

"This fact totally, totally sucks. It's the only reason no guy should go here. Come to think of it, maybe that's why the schools is like 55% female. They know they have a huge advantage. If there are 20 girls at a given party, I guarantee that 10 of them will be ugly. Not even average; ugly. Another 5 would be considered average in the real world, 3 would be in the ok to cute range, and the rest (that is, 2) would rank 7.5s to 10s in the real world. Wait, what am I thinking; PERFECT 10s DO NOT EXIST HERE. In fact in Berkeley there is a special scale for rating women, known as Berkeley vision or Berkeley goggles. Basically what you do is take the whole regular 1-10 scale and move it up 2 notches. Basically you have to be the ugliest girl in the world to rate a 1 here. Someone who is normally a 4.5 in the real world is a 6.5 here; not bad. If you rate a 7 in the real world, get ready for heaven. You'll be a 9 here, aka a walking goddess. Guys will fawn over you like there's no tomorrow. And if you rate a 9 or (gasp) 10, you will have a trail of 26 guys following you around by the time you drop your bags in your dorm on move in day. Even most of the soroties are not hot. I'd say two are hot, another two are cute, another five are ehh, and the rest are ugly. This is out of 11 sororities. The girls in the hottest sorority are basically the queens of berkeley. Everyone here is smart, so they are smart too. Most people here are nice, and they are no exception (for the most part). However most people here are not attractive. They are. If they ever break up with a boyfriend, they could have one within the hour if they so desired. If you're an average looking girl, it'll be a similar thing although perhaps not as drastic. You'll get another guy before the week is out, should you so desire."
