How are you guys doing so far?I’d appreciate it if you could post your grades for calc 1 and 2, gen chem 1 and 2,and physics-and briefly describe the level of difficulty of these courses.I just wanna get an idea of how taking these courses at penn compares with taking the same courses at PSU. I’m planning on transferring from PSU in my junior year.Majoring in chemical engr.

Isn't PSU engineering considered about on par, if not better, than Penn's? What attracts you to Penn? Ease of classes seems like a bit of a shoddy reason.

i dont know if PSU's engineering is 'tougher' but i know its higher ranked(i dont really care about rankings).I want to come to Upenn because i think i'll greatly increase my chances of becoming an ibanker/consultant.(ie. if i that's what set my mind on doing towards the end of my colege career), as many of these firms recruit from UPENN.I do love engineering though and would like to work in a pharmaceutical company if i dont become a consultant or an i banker. It's not so much the ease of the courses i'm asking about-coz i doubt penns engr. is more 'rigorous' than PSU's.So i should reword my question-I want to know how tough it is to earn an A,A- in technical courses. What is the grading system like? Are there curves? How strict are the professors when it comes to giving out such grades?,etc. Do you understand what i mean?G.P.A isn't everything.but i still want mine to be solid.

another reason i want to transfer is that i love philly.

Most intro courses (chem, physics) curve the median to a 2.5. Math, I think is a little better (but I'm not exactly sure how they do it).

As for how "tough" it is, no one really has an answer to that question unless that person has attended both Penn and PSU. If you've taken AP classes, I'd say that the mininum required for a 5 on an AP will probably get you about C+ or B- at Penn.

I'm actually in college.Just completed my freshman year and have taken calc 1,2,chem 1,2 and physics already.Never took any AP exams. Are there sample exams for these courses on the UPENN website?Maybe that'll be the best way to compare penn and PSU.

There should be. I know there are for math.

Do you know how i can find those?I went to the site but its so disorganized.

Calc 2 is Math 114, and Calc 3 is Math 240. For this exam:

17/20 is about an A-, althought it depended on your section and instructor.

As for physics and Chem, I don't think they release exams on web sites.

You're the man.Thanks.Ima check it out now--

im me ur email and i'll get u phys and chem if u want.
