Is your percentile score against everyone else who took the test in the whole year, or is it only against people who took the same test? And while I’m at it, has anyone successfully submitted a June SSAT score to any schools?
You have 2 SSAT percentages, one for how well you did in your gender group, and how well you did compared to everyone. Now to your other question, I believe your percentage is based on everyone who took that test on that particular day. So for instance, you took the test on June 13, then you would be “competeing” with everyone else who also took the test on June 13. (Took it 4 times (2last year and 2 this year), and it seems to correlate.
From the SSAT website: “The SSAT Percentile (1 to 99) compares your performance on the SSAT with that of other students of the same grade/gender who have taken the SSAT in the U.S. and Canada on a Standard test date in the previous three years (the norm group). For students who have taken the SSAT more than once, only their first set of scores is included in this process. You will see the average score for the norm group for each section of the SSAT, as well as your percentile as compared to the norm group.”
Thanks for all the help. I really don’t want to take the test again this fall :-S.
