How are these Canadian Engineering Universities? And do I have enough chances?

ok...I am a senior at an American school in Egypt. I am planning to go to Canada for college. I have a 3.6 GPA and have taken quite a number of APs...My SAT score was quite bad and I got 470 in Critical Reading (I know, its horrible), 650 in Math and 560 in Writing...I am however improving and going to take the SAT again and I should be able to break 600 in Writing and 550 in Critical Reading...Apart fro that, i am a pretty good student with extra-curricular activities and NHS and so on...I want to study engineering...U of British Columbia is very hard to get in and so I probably wouldn't try on UBC I guess...U of Toronto is the kind of a college that I really would like to get into...Some people recommended me U of Waterloo and U of Alberta, How are they?? Which one is better amongst the two?? Also are there any other canadian engineering universities that I could apply to just in case I do not get into any of the ones I mentioned above?? Thank you very much for your answers!!!

Well you have a pretty decent GPA. I would say you have a shot at all of those schools. Waterloo ranks higher than the UofA. All the schools you have mentioned are great though. There’s plenty of schools you could apply to, St. Francis Xavier University is small but it’s a great party school aha. Dalhousie University in Halifax is alright, good city. McGill in Montreal is a great school and once again a great city.

This is a ranking of the top engineering schools in Canada, it’s probably out-dated but I’ll throw it in just to give you an idea of the schools.

University of Waterloo - 7.5

University of Toronto - 7.0 with no band less than 5

McGill University - 7.0

Simon Fraser University - 7.0

Carleton University - 7.0

Queens University - 7.0

University Of British Columbia - 7.0

Concordia University - 6.5

University Of Alberta - 6.5 with no band less than 5

University Of Victoria - 6.5

Canadian schools don’t look at SAT so you don’t have to worry about that.

^ If you apply from a US-style educational system (and it sounds like the OP does), SAT scores are required.

im canadian but can I use my SAT’s instead of my final marks?

^ “Instead of”? I really doubt it; even US applicants are required to submit their marks. You might be able to do both… check the websites of the schools that interest you.

“im canadian but can I use my SAT’s instead of my final marks?”

haha no way.
