I haven't been on in some time, but as I posted in the Official decisions thread, I was deferred from Fordham, which is my 1st choice school. I was heartbroken for awhile, but I've since gotten over it and am trying to do everything I can to make it clear to Fordham that I belong there. My counselor and I have been putting together a few things to mail to them: more letters of rec., midyear grades, new scores, etc. It's tough, but will be so worth it if I get admitted.

How are the rest of you, who've been deferred, doing, and are you still working towards Fordham? There was an awesome spirit of support on this board after the EA decisions came out, and I see no reason for it to stop. (I think we need it more than anyone =] )

I was bummed out, but its been relatively quite since then. Since i had the Your Choice App, i was an idiot and didnt send any letters of rec b4, but ive submitted 2 and an additional essay since being deferred. My grades this year have been good but my english class might destroy my chances cuz theres a chance im gonna fail, its not even fair, i got an 85 and 80 the first 2 MPs but if i get a 60 for the 3rd, they put it as a fail for the entire semester. im still praying though

Marking Periods, there are 3 per semester, 6 in total in the year

what's deferred? does it mean your rejected? waitlist? or you apply to ED and they told you to apply again as RD?

Concord- I hope things work out for you! I had to fight off a serious case of senioritis as well.

Hanauma- It's kind of like that. During the EA/ED period, a group of students aren't admitted, but aren't rejected either, so they move them to the RD pool and make a decision during that time. It's basically for those on the 'edge' I guess, so we have to send some extra info and convince them we really want to go to that school.

deferred means that we were put in the RD pool

I want to go to Fordham more than anything, and I was so upset when I got my deferred letter. This girl who goes to my school got in, so that made it even worse. I guess we'll see what happens..I couldn't retake the SAT or ACT or anything because it was so conveniently not being administered anywhere closer than places an hour away until next month. so I think that'll hurt my chances a lot...
since they already have the application and everything, do you think theres still time to send in another recommendation letter? the teacher that I want to write it is currently in India and won't be back until next month. =/ I'd ask a different teacher, but I don't think that any of them will really do as well as he will with it..
